ABC15 Telethon Raises More Than $970,000 for Phoenix Children’s
The 11th Annual ABC15 Telethon, held on Wednesday, April 12th, raised an incredible $978,508, more than double the amount of last year’s campaign, all of which is benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hope Fund. Every ‘Hero for Hope’ donation of $20 a month or a one-time gift of $240 or more was celebrated by delivering a ‘Superhero Sidekick’ stuffed animal to a child in the Hospital, bringing smiles and a furry friend to patients battling illness.
“The generosity of the people of Arizona is truly remarkable, and we couldn’t be more grateful to our viewers and community partners,” said Anita Helt, vice president and general manager at ABC15 Arizona. “I am grateful ABC15 can help Phoenix Children’s make life a little easier for Arizona families facing a health crisis, ensuring every child has access to the best care, no matter their family’s financial situation.”
In traditional telethon style, the ABC15 Telethon included a phone bank staffed by sponsors and hospital staff. Inspirational stories played throughout the day, with topics ranging from Phoenix Children’s Child Life, Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, philanthropic efforts, and more. ABC15’s Sonoran Living, hosted by Terri Ouellette and Susan Casper, devoted their entire show to the Telethon. ABC15 News covered the Telethon in every newscast and social media platform throughout the day
“We are immensely grateful for ABC15 and their viewers,” said Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer of Phoenix Children’s. “The stories told throughout the telethon show the impact that has been made in these patient’s lives. With the generosity of our community, campaigns like the ABC15 Telethon we can continue this important work.”
Each dollar raised during the ABC15 Telethon directly impacts care, critical programs and services provided to patients and families. If you missed the Telethon, you can still donate to the cause. Visit TelethonForPCH.org to contribute. The ABC15 Telethon will return in early April 2024.
